For any MMORPG to succeed these days, having great quest lines is a must. Beautiful graphics and excellent sound quality are also very important, but if the quests are boring and not very challenging, nobody is going to stick around to watch the pretty pictures.

In just a few short months after its release, Warhammer Online quests have proven to be not only great fun, but also well thought out and challenging. Some types of quests are typical of what you would find in other MMORPGs. However, Warhammer Online has introduced some other intriguing types of quests. Here are the five different types of quests you will find when on your journey through Warhammer Online.

Warhammer Online Quests

1. Public Quests

Public quests are those that are open to everyone that is in the area and wishes to participate. When you enter an area where a public quest is underway, you get notified that a quest is taking place and you can choose whether or not to participate. What you get at the end of the quests is dependent on the amount of effort you put into it, so you cannot simply come in at the end and share equal glory

2. Realm vs. Realm (RvR) Quests

RVR Quests are like public quests but there is another group that is given a quest that is the exact opposite of yours. For example, if one type of character is expected to kill a group, another player may be expected to heal the group .

3. Exploration Quests

These are quests that, in many ways, you do not do anything for. You get this by exploring, and you are provided with large rewards despite not completing anything to get them. In order to get the rewards, explore the Warhammer Online world.

4. Kill Collector Quests

Killing mobs is usually quest based, but you always have the option of killing any mob you come across. No mobs are there superfluously, so most likely if you go about killing a mob you come to, someone in the world of Warhammer Online is going to give you something for it.

5. Tome Quests

In Warhammer Online there is a “Tome of Knowledge.” That tome gives you information about the game, and it is expected that when the game gets released there will be quests involved, though not even people that worked on the game are aware of what these quests will be.

Ashling's Warhammer Guide was one of, if not the first Warhammer Guide available. This guide was developed by a team of three hardcore players who have been playing since closed beta.

Ashling's guide does an excellent job of covering every quest in the game for both Order and Destruction. The detailed maps with coordinates make questing enjoyable.

The Order and Destruction guides come separately, but you can get the combo pack and save 65%. The combo pack comes with both the Order and Destruction guides, and it includes these three bonus guides: RvR Scenario, RvR Builds, Warcamp Quest and crafting beginners guide.

Here are some of the features of Ashling's Warhammer Guide:

1-40 leveling guide covering every tier, chapter, and area

Detailed quest guide written in an easy to follow format

Maps with coordinates, flightpaths, and warcamps

Soon to be added In-game map mode

Free lifetime updates

Warhammer Elite was created by a "26 Year Old No Life Gamer". This is a step-by-step guide that takes you from 1-40 in the fastest way possible.

There are two main differences between Warhammer Elite and Ashling's Warhammer guide. First is the layout. Warhammer Elite covers everything in paragraph format, where as Ashling's guide is written in more of a bullet point style. The second difference is item and quest linking. Warhammer Elite links items and quest to wardb.com. Ashling's guide does not link any items or quests.

I prefered Ashling's writing style over Warhammer Elites. The linking feature of the Warhammer Elite guide is nice, but not enough to push it past Ashling's guide for the number two spot.

Like Ashling's guide, the Order and Destruction guides are separate, but can be ordered together for a discount with the combo pack.

Here some of the features in Warhammer Elite:

1-40 leveling guide for Order and Destruction covering all 4 tiers

Item and Quest linking to wardb.com

Detailed instructions with maps and screenshots
