There are several different character classes in Warhammer Online. These characters are not controlled by human beings, rather they are controlled by the computer, giving them the popular abbreviation of “NPC” or “Non Player Characters.”

Each of the Warhammer Online character classes have their own subspecies, many of which are what make the game so large. Yet there are seven different classes that all of the NPCs in Warhammer Online fall under.

Character Types

Greenskins

The most well known of MMORPG characters, Greenskins include Goblins, ogres, etc. You will run into many Greenskins while playing Warhammer Online.

Dwarf

Much like World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online has many dwarves in the digital universe. These stocky characters are the most common NPC types, and are expected to play major roles throughout the storylines. They are skilled craftsman.

The Empire

The Empire are the “good humans.” While not necessarily “good” in the literal sense, they can be considered civilized and orderly, giving them the appearance being sane and organized. Much to the opposite of their counterparts.

Chaos

Chaos are the “bad humans” though in reality they do not need to be humans at all. They are mutated beings, corrupt and swayed by evil. In Warhammer Online, Chaos legions are not necessarily evil, yet they are predators of order and life, giving them a lust for violence and greed.

High Elf

High Elves are the “Good Elves” but unlike the human classes, high elves truly are good. They are designed to keep peace and to prevent world destruction. They can live for millennia and are some of the most adept fighters, especially at skills that require balance and grace.

Dark Elf

Dark Elves are the bad elves, and earn their reputation regularly. They are darkness manifest, and they are a breed that tries to bring destruction to the world. They were once considered high elves until the two split after the “Sundering.”

Others

There are a few character classes that do not fall under any specific subheading. For example, in the Poisonwing Canyon there is a Wyvern named Diemonus. However, most NPCs in Warhammer Online fall into the preceding six character classes.

For any MMORPG to succeed these days, having great quest lines is a must. Beautiful graphics and excellent sound quality are also very important, but if the quests are boring and not very challenging, nobody is going to stick around to watch the pretty pictures.

In just a few short months after its release, Warhammer Online quests have proven to be not only great fun, but also well thought out and challenging. Some types of quests are typical of what you would find in other MMORPGs. However, Warhammer Online has introduced some other intriguing types of quests. Here are the five different types of quests you will find when on your journey through Warhammer Online.

Warhammer Online Quests

1. Public Quests

Public quests are those that are open to everyone that is in the area and wishes to participate. When you enter an area where a public quest is underway, you get notified that a quest is taking place and you can choose whether or not to participate. What you get at the end of the quests is dependent on the amount of effort you put into it, so you cannot simply come in at the end and share equal glory

2. Realm vs. Realm (RvR) Quests

RVR Quests are like public quests but there is another group that is given a quest that is the exact opposite of yours. For example, if one type of character is expected to kill a group, another player may be expected to heal the group .

3. Exploration Quests

These are quests that, in many ways, you do not do anything for. You get this by exploring, and you are provided with large rewards despite not completing anything to get them. In order to get the rewards, explore the Warhammer Online world.

4. Kill Collector Quests

Killing mobs is usually quest based, but you always have the option of killing any mob you come across. No mobs are there superfluously, so most likely if you go about killing a mob you come to, someone in the world of Warhammer Online is going to give you something for it.

5. Tome Quests

In Warhammer Online there is a “Tome of Knowledge.” That tome gives you information about the game, and it is expected that when the game gets released there will be quests involved, though not even people that worked on the game are aware of what these quests will be.
