Warhammer Online NPCs

2009

There are several different character classes in Warhammer Online. These characters are not controlled by human beings, rather they are controlled by the computer, giving them the popular abbreviation of “NPC” or “Non Player Characters.”

Each of the Warhammer Online character classes have their own subspecies, many of which are what make the game so large. Yet there are seven different classes that all of the NPCs in Warhammer Online fall under.

Character Types

Greenskins

The most well known of MMORPG characters, Greenskins include Goblins, ogres, etc. You will run into many Greenskins while playing Warhammer Online.

Dwarf

Much like World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online has many dwarves in the digital universe. These stocky characters are the most common NPC types, and are expected to play major roles throughout the storylines. They are skilled craftsman.

The Empire

The Empire are the “good humans.” While not necessarily “good” in the literal sense, they can be considered civilized and orderly, giving them the appearance being sane and organized. Much to the opposite of their counterparts.

Chaos

Chaos are the “bad humans” though in reality they do not need to be humans at all. They are mutated beings, corrupt and swayed by evil. In Warhammer Online, Chaos legions are not necessarily evil, yet they are predators of order and life, giving them a lust for violence and greed.

High Elf

High Elves are the “Good Elves” but unlike the human classes, high elves truly are good. They are designed to keep peace and to prevent world destruction. They can live for millennia and are some of the most adept fighters, especially at skills that require balance and grace.

Dark Elf

Dark Elves are the bad elves, and earn their reputation regularly. They are darkness manifest, and they are a breed that tries to bring destruction to the world. They were once considered high elves until the two split after the “Sundering.”

Others

There are a few character classes that do not fall under any specific subheading. For example, in the Poisonwing Canyon there is a Wyvern named Diemonus. However, most NPCs in Warhammer Online fall into the preceding six character classes.

Warhammer Online Announces Two New Careers: Slayer and Choppa

2009

CHOPPA

“WAAAGH! CHOP DA HUMIES! CHOP DA SISSIES! CHOP DA STUNTIES! CHOP CHOP CHOP! WAAAGH!”

-GAR THE MAD, CHOPPA

Orcs are always itching for a fight, and at the best of times their insatiable bloodlust is barely restrained long enough to form some sort of rudimentary plan of attack. Choppas don’t even have that minimal self-restraint. Ornery and savage, their one-track mind is dead seat on getting stuck in and bashin’ heads! Chopping is what they live for, chopping is what they are best at, and this one-track focus makes them ferocious fighters. As such, a Choppa who lives long enough quickly turns out to be the most elite fighter of the Greenskin horde, wreaking havoc throughout enemy lines purely for the sake of satisfying their own self-indulgent bloodlust.

CHOPPA SPECIALTY

Choppas are driven purely by their unending and inexplicable thirst for battle, which compels them to throw themselves headlong into battle against any challenges who stand before them… or against anyone vaguely nearby… or against anyone trying to running away…or occasionally against rocks and trees if no one is nearby. Their endless love of battle drives Choppas into a nearly euphoric state, especially when they come across an enemy who presents a real challenge and their battle rage becomes stronger and stronger with each vicious strike. Most Choppas will even heedlessly push themselves off-balance, not caring about how vulnerable they become as long as they get a “Gud fight” out of it.

PLAYING AS A CHOPPA

The Choppa is an offensive juggernaut that rains increasingly punishing blows down upon their enemies as their battle frenzy consumes them more and more. However, while the Choppa is single-minded, they’re also clever in their brutality, and they have found that they can channel their battle rage into massive, exhausting attacks, briefly sacrificing their enraged power in an attempt to fell the enemy with a single powerful blow. For those who choose the life of a Choppa, the limited control of when to embrace their battle frenzy and when to exhaust it will be a constant back-and-forth as their battles rage on.

FIGHTING AGAINST A CHOPPA

While Choppas may appear to be completely vulnerable at first glance, do not be fooled, for they’re under the protection of Gork (or maybe Mork), and as such can be very resistant to damage. The surest way to fight against a Choppa is to simply hit them hard and fast, and preferably while they’re engaging a different enemy. Always remember that the Choppa’s battle frenzy, while granting incredible might to the Orcs, also makes them increasingly more vulnerable as well, so striking at a Choppa who’s already in the heat of battle allows you to take advantage of their weakness while still keeping your own safety. Of course, that’s cold comfort to the poor fool who’s being chopped to bloody bits…

SLAYER

“KILLING THE BEASTIE WOULD BE A GREAT DEED, AND DYING IN THE ATTEMPT WOULD BE A MIGHTY DOOM!”

-DAVIK SHATTERED-HAMMER, SLAYER

While many of the other races view promises and commitments with a pragmatic eye, Dwarfs hold their honor in the highest regard, and uphold their oaths in a way that can only be described as nigh-obsessive. If something somehow prevents a Dwarf from fulfilling his oath, then he becomes shamed more deeply than any other race could even conceive of. Any Dwarf dishonored so thoroughly has only one choice: to stand before Grungi and take the Slayer’s oath, swearing to atone for his sin through an honorable death in combat. He forsakes his traditional armor, shaves his beard, ritually tattoos himself, and then sets off to rid himself of the shame and regret that haunt him. Slayers are just as stubborn as any other Dwarf, and dying quietly is simply not in their nature. The Slayers therefore become ruthless and terrifying fighters, throwing themselves into battle with no regard for their own well-being as they desperately search for a foe that is strong enough to end their painful quest.

SLAYER SPECIALTY

Every moment of a Slayer’s life is filled with the rage of their dishonor and loss. As they battle an enemy, they become more enraged with every passing moment, furious and saddened that this foe is not strong enough to bring them death’s atonement. This rage fills them with deadly fury, making them more and more dangerous as it builds up. Eventually, their rage will begin to push their body past its limits, putting their own health and safely into dire straits.

PLAYING AS A SLAYER

A Slayer focuses on brutal offensive attacks. As their rage builds up, they become more and more powerful, but they will eventually start to become more vulnerable as well, as fatigue takes its toll. While Slayers are able to briefly dampen their rage by using powerful and exhausting attacks, they can never be truly calmed, and their rage will quickly begin to build once again. Playing as a Slayer will ultimately come down to your choices between allowing your rage to consume you entirely and keeping you in a massive frenzy, or constantly exhausting your rage while also forgoing the furious might that it would otherwise give you, or striking a careful balance between the two. No matter the style, all Slayers are a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

FIGHTING AGAINST A SLAYER

Even though Slayers wear almost no armor, Dwarf fortitude and the Slayer’s utterly-focused nature significantly make up for it. The best tactic for defeating a Slayer is to do so quickly, and far out of the reach of their weapons. Always remember that a prolonged engagement against a Slayer is a dire gamble for you, for if you manage to survive their initial assault, the Slayer will only grow stronger as their rage builds up – but the weakness that the rage eventually inflicts may possibly work in your favor…if you can survive that long.

Warhammer Quest Guide

2009

For any MMORPG to succeed these days, having great quest lines is a must. Beautiful graphics and excellent sound quality are also very important, but if the quests are boring and not very challenging, nobody is going to stick around to watch the pretty pictures.

Goblin Guide

In just a few short months after its release, Warhammer Online quests have proven to be not only great fun, but also well thought out and challenging. Some types of quests are typical of what you would find in other MMORPGs. However, Warhammer Online has introduced some other intriguing types of quests. Here are the five different types of quests you will find when on your journey through Warhammer Online.

Warhammer Online Quests

1. Public Quests

Public quests are those that are open to everyone that is in the area and wishes to participate. When you enter an area where a public quest is underway, you get notified that a quest is taking place and you can  choose whether or not to participate. What you get at the end of the quests is dependent on the amount of effort you put into it, so you cannot simply come in at the end and share equal glory

2. Realm vs. Realm (RvR) Quests

RVR Quests are like public quests but there is another group that is given a quest that is the exact opposite of yours. For example, if one type of character is expected to kill a group, another player may be expected to heal the group .

3. Exploration Quests

These are quests that, in many ways, you do not do anything for. You get this by exploring, and you are provided with large rewards despite not completing anything to get them. In order to get the rewards, explore the Warhammer Online world.

4. Kill Collector Quests

Killing mobs is usually quest based, but you always have the option of killing any mob you come across. No mobs are there superfluously, so most likely  if you go about killing a mob you come to, someone in the world of Warhammer Online is going to give you something for it.

5. Tome Quests

In Warhammer Online there is a “Tome of Knowledge.” That tome gives you information about the game, and it is expected that when the game gets released there will be quests involved, though not even people that worked on the game are aware of what these quests will be.

Chosen Guide: Wage War with Your Warhammer Online Chosen Warrior!

2009

Being of Chaos, some of these warriors are even mutated in various, and ultimately fearsome, ways. As many a WO Chosen guide state, the advantage of these tanks above and beyond any other tank class in Warhammer Online is that they can actually dish out some damage, certainly more than most other tanks. Thus, playing a Warhammer Online Chosen is actually somewhat of a hybrid rather than a pure tank, but can really perform just as well as most any tank out there in most regards.

Weaknesses and Strengths Observed by Any Warhammer Chosen Guide

One of the biggest strengths that have been observed by man a Warhammer Online Chosen guide is that their auras offer distinct flexibility depending on whether more damage, healing, or resisting affects. According to one WO Chosen guide, this affect is made that much greater when combined with the fact that the auras apply onto the entire group of the Warhammer Online Chosen warrior.

Of course, the main weakness lies in the inability of a Warhammer Online Chosen to do much while at range. However, this has been mitigated by the various methods set out in many a Warhammer Chosen guide that can counter and help avoid such situations from ever occurring.

In short, the Warhammer Online Chosen is a class that is flexible and powerful in its own right, and despite needing some small measure of know-how to master, it is a challenge that any player should relish.

War Ranking Strategies: Battle It To The End

2008

When you’re already in the realm of Warhammer Online, the goal should be to remove the others until there’s only one territory left: yours. But before you can do that, you need to learn how to move up to the ranks. Here are some of the best Warhammer online ranking strategies that you can apply, even if you’re just a newbie:

1. Wage war and win it. Army captains become generals because of the victories they garnered, and the same philosophy applies to Warhammer Online. For you to move up to higher ranks, you must be able to participate in battles and win it either for yourself or for your realms.

2. Improve your actions. Actions are considered to be the special attacks of characters in WAR. Every rank will have a corresponding action. However, if you want to improve your rank, you may want to also enhance your skills or actions. This will make you more capable and deserving of your supposed to be new rank. You can look for a skilled trainer who can help develop your actions. Keep in mind, though, that you may need to spend a small amount for this.

3. Increase your tactic points. As you continue to win battles and move up the ranks, you earn tactic points. These points can be converted to further strengthen the strategies you employ to your realm, for example, building your defenses or improving your ability to combat spirit-based attacks.

It will also help you a lot as you learn the different WAR ranking strategies to make use of a Warhammer Online game guide. It can offer you tips and techniques to speed up your rise among the ranks. There are plenty of them over the World Wide Web. Don’t forget to check out forums too, especially those dedicated to WAR.

Warhammer Chosen Guide – RvR Warhammer Chosen Walkthrough

2008

While the RvR aspect of many a Warhammer Chosen game guide tend to emphasize combat through tanking, and letting other party members deal most of the damage, other ways could equally be beneficial. Most of the WAR Chosen guide websites that are out there emphasize one method because it is best to perfect one style of combat before trying new things, however by nature, RvR in Warhammer is unpredictable and it may be wise to at least know about other methods before competing against players. In situations like this, a complete RvR Warhammer Chosen walkthrough could really come in handy by being specific instead of universal.

Basic Warhammer Chosen Game Guide to RvR

Essentially, the Chosen is a class that excels in the ‘up close and personal’ warfare, while its biggest weakness is its lack of options while at range. Thus, any good RvR Warhammer Chosen walkthrough should concentrate predominantly on, first and foremost, how to get up close and personal, and what to do while at range.

Generally speaking, as things stand no WAR Chosen guide, or indeed, no Chosen at all, lasts very long if held at range. Due to this, most RvR Warhammer Chosen walkthrough websites would focus primarily on getting in close as quickly as possible, and then staying close through roots and such other abilities. Of course, staying at range and running while soaking up some of the damage that is being dealt is also a good distraction tactic, as many ranged opponents try so hard to keep a Chosen at range that they sometimes ignore other imminent threats.

Despite the fact that an RvR Warhammer Chosen walkthrough is a great addition and reference, no matter how many a WAR Chosen guide or a Warhammer Chosen game guide is read, in the end RvR seems to be about developing a personal play style that is suitable, and sticking with it.

Goblin Guide-A Warhammer Leveling Guide

2008
Goblin Guide

Goblin Guide

Download the Goblin Guide Here

The most complete Warhammer leveling guide I have seen is the Goblin Guide. Not only do you receive both an Order and Destruction 1-40 Warhammer leveling guide, you also get a Warhammer gold guide, Warhammer RvR guide, a crafting guide and a Warhammer class guide. No other Warhammer leveling guide offers this much content.

Warhammer Leveling Guide
It’s easy to follow this well thought out and to the point guide. With an exact plan for what quests to do and when and where to do them, I found myself saving a ton of time by not running around aimlessly trying to find things. The author also includes video guides on leveling and making gold that are extremely helpful for both tasks.

Warhammer Gold Guide
No other Warhammer leveling guide I have used included a gold guide, which was something I really wanted. If you have ever read a World of Warcraft gold guide, you might be familiar with some of the tips, but you will find plenty that are Warhammer Online specific and are very useful. My gold has increased a lot since I started using the Goblin Gold Guide.

Warhammer RvR Guide
The previous guide I was using focused on leveling through PvE only. The Goblin Guide shows you the fastest way to level using PvE, RvR or doing both along the way. I have not had a chance to do much RvR since I was concentrating on just leveling and PvE seemed to be the fasted way to level. Even after using the Goblin Guide to participate in some Scenarios and Keep raiding, I still think PvE is faster, but I’m having so much fun I’ll probably spend most my time doing RvR. By doing this, I can also increase my Renown rank with the 1-80 Renown Rank Guide included with the Goblin Guide.

I have not played around with crafting, but I have looked through the crafting guide and I’m confident that this will be a tremendous asset when the time comes. I’m very satisfied with the Goblin Guide, as it covers every single aspect of this game, while other Warhammer leveling guide are limited to only one.
